Before we take a look at the ratings of all Toronto radio stations in the Numeris’ PPM radio survey results from Sept. 1 – Nov. 30, 2014, lets look at how Bell Media determined what the Number One TV Show in Toronto and Vancouver was according to radio listeners.
One of the advantages of Bell having a Cross Media Team is that it provides insight into what radio listeners watch on television and what viewers listen to on the radio. This Cross Media data allows companies like Bell Media – that owns radio and TV stations – to determine, for example, that The Flash is the number one TV show in Toronto and Vancouver on CTV (owned by Bell Media) for 18-44 year old listeners to Contemporary Hit Radio (CHR).
Why is this important. Because if CHR radio stations want to advertise on television they need to place their spots on a show their listeners watch.
