24/7 Christmas music increases ratings temporarily

Thanks to PPM and Astral Research the answer is a big YES! Astral Research analyzed the ratings to determine how  playing Christmas music during the four weeks leading up to December 25th, skewed the 13 week winter ratings for those stations.

Why morale is so bad in radio

There are days after I speak to people in the media about how unhappy they are that I have to bite my tongue and not say what are you complaining about at least you have a job. Chances are their boss doesn’t bite their tongue and tells them the same thing – which only makes matters worse for the unhappy employee.

The real story about radio salaries

The average English AM salary is $63,343 compared to the French AM salary of $91,794. Average salary at an English FM station is $65,596 compared to $75,142 at a French language FM station.

Why listeners bond with radio hosts

Talk radio hosts have a bond with listeners because they share the same opinions and politics. Music radio hosts bond with listeners because of the music they play on air.  But the study says there is another reason why listeners bond with FM music deejays.
