Barks Bites for Week of April 18th

GO HABS GO!

GO NUCKS GO!

I LOVE THIS TIME OF THE YEAR ... STANLEY CUP TIME!!!!

This is hockey nirvana right now as we are into the 2011 Stanley Cup playoffs.

Now as a self admitted Toronto Maple Leaf fan (don't laugh now) the only memory I have is back in 1967 when my hero Dave Keon waved to me at the parade in downtown Toronto.

But after moving west in 2003 I have had the pleasure of covering two cup final series. The first being Calgary vs Tampa Bay in 2004. Two years later it was Edmonton vs Carolina. Talk about action and to see it live was very, very special.

This year I am watching it on the tube and the quality of hockey rises as the stakes get bigger. Everyone wants their name on the cup and trust me I have had it all to myself on a couple of occasions and yes I have read every name on the coveted piece of silver.

My teams this year to meet in the final are both Canadian as I for one would love to see VANCOUVER-MONTREAL final. That would be an instant classic and I am sure CBC would love the ratings for sure.

But if it does happen, I would have to hit up a few pals in Montreal to try and get me into one of the games as I still miss THE BEST ARENA HOT DOGS IN THE WORLD and other than the hockey THAT is what it's all about for me!
